TRADIQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost to use TradIQ?

Nothing to join, nothing to post, nothing to bid, no subscription. Each party pays TradIQ a $21 broker fee only when a job matches. On jobs over $2,000, the fee also includes 1.5% of the job total. Loyalty tiers earned through completed jobs discount the base fee. GST is added to the broker fee. Job prices and bids are shown without GST. GST is added to the job payment the client is charged, and the tradesperson provides the official invoice for it.

Who am I hiring — TradIQ?

No. Every job contract is between the client and the tradesperson only. TradIQ is the broker: it runs the market, forms and delivers the contract, and handles payment processing — it does not perform, supervise, or guarantee the work.

Do I sign a contract?

You review and accept the Terms of Service and the Job Contract template when you join — and again if those documents are ever updated. Then every matched job automatically forms its own Job Contract — delivered to both parties as a PDF and always available from the deal page.

How do jobs get matched?

Clients post jobs with the amount they'll pay. Tradespeople post binding charges against them. The moment the prices meet — a charge at or below the client's amount — the job matches automatically. Either party can also accept the other's posted price directly. At match, the tradesperson's hourly rate is locked; the total can change only through a scope change the client approves.

What about materials?

All jobs are posted for labour only. Materials are supplied by the client and/or the tradesperson; tradesperson-supplied materials are charged in addition to the job value, with the client's approval.

When is the client charged?

Your card is authorized when the job matches. It's captured only after the completed job's package is delivered to you — and you're never charged a dollar you didn't pre-approve. Any scope change or materials cost requires your approval before it can be charged.

What if the scope of the job changes?

One mechanism: the tradesperson proposes a scope change, the client approves or declines. The hourly rate is locked at match — only hours can change. Every approved change is documented on the deal.

Are tradespeople vetted?

Every tradesperson's credentials are individually reviewed and approved, identity is confirmed, and each carries their own rating history.

Is my work warrantied?

The Job Contract carries a warranty on labour of at least one year — at least three years for roofing. The warranty covers the work as your deal records it, so it's important that the job scope, materials, and completion documentation are accurate — including any scope changes agreed during the job. If a warranty claim or dispute ever arises, those records are what it is measured against.
